Q: "I signed on with a credit card company not knowing that I got myself into a 3 year contract. Now they say I have to pay $500.00, or something like that, in order to get out of the contract. Can they really do that and if so, is there a way that I can get out of the contract since they never told me that I had to stay with them for 3 years?"
A: Some companies do have really high cancellation fees and I am sorry that who ever signed you on didn't tell you that they required you to pay a large fee if you left before the 3 years were up. If you re-read your contract it will tell you the exact amount in the fine print. The good news is that there is usually always a way out despite what your contract says. Give me a call, I'd be glad to help!
Q: "I bought a credit card machine a while back and someone came in to my business the other day and told me my machine was out of date and I had to buy a new one. It's not that old. How do I know if what they are saying is correct?"
A: You can always call the maker or distributer of that specific piece of equipment and they will tell you if that is true or not. I make sure my clients know far in advance if they have equipment that is going to be fazed out and give them the information they need to make those changes when the time is right.
